Is Mindanao Philippines ready for another Hollywood film shooting? Which area or areas in Mindanao can easily be a great location for the next big Hollywood movie? I can't help but think about these after I read that Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz and a couple of other Hollywood actors and actresses are set to arrive in Manila, Philippines early next year for the shooting of "The Bourne Legacy." According to the Film Development Council of the Philippines, "Bourne Legacy" will shoot scenes in Manila, Philippines by January 2012. The movie is set for release sometime August 2012. How fast time flies! It's now October and that means one thing --- it's Lanzones Festival time! Lanzones Festival is celebrated yearly in the beautiful island paradise that is Camiguin Island, Mindanao, Philippines! This year, the Camiguin Lanzones Festival 2011 celebration will kick off on October 16, 2011. The Camiguin Island Lanzones Festival 2011 schedule of activities can be found below. Well if you're a regular reader of this Mindanaoan.com blog, you'd probably know that I'm a frequent visitor of Resorts World Manila, that entertainment, food, shopping destination and luxury hotel complex right across the new Ninoy Aquino International Airport 3 (NAIA 3). There are a lot of reasons why I like Resorts World Manila a lot but I guess the best one would be the fact that I had one ultra amazing night there before and the results of that lucky night helped me and my Mom spend our first ever mother-daughter Valentine's Day celebration in Singapore and my entire family (me, my Mom and 3 younger brothers) spend a few glorious days in Hong Kong and Macau :) Yep, I only have fun memories about Resorts World Manila! Color Me Badd. All 4 One. I literally waited decades before it happened. And when it finally did, I forgot all the questions that I wanted to ask All 4 One and Color Me Badd for the longest time. I just simply enjoyed every moment I spent with them, did not hesitate to let them know that I was a certified fan, became their self-appointed paparazzi for the day, screamed at the top of my lungs, danced onstage (gulp!) and told them again and again just how loved they all were, still are and always will be! And - get this - I spent time again with them a few days later, got autographs and a special video message from All 4 One and Color Me Badd for all my beloved readers! Following the successful Bonok Bonok Festival 2011, here's another event in Surigao that you guys might want to watch out for. The Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte and Bacuag Mayor Sheila Mae O. Cebedo, in cooperation with the Department of Tourism and other government agencies, are holding the 2nd Lubi Lubi Dance Festival 2011. The 2011 Lubi Lubi Dance Festival will be held on October 7, 2011 at Bacuag, Surigao del Norte, Mindanao, Philippines. Meanwhile, from October 5 to 7, 2011, there will also be a skimboarding competition in Bacuag. The 5th National Skim Boarding Competition will be held at Z-Bay Wall, Bacuag, Surigao del Norte. Malacanang confirms appointment of Ramon Jimenez as new Tourism Secretary

Twitter was abuzz today with reports that Philippine President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III has found a replacement for Alberto Lim, erstwhile Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary. Lim resigned, citing personal reasons. Aquino reportedly accepted Lim's resignation effective August 31, 2011. After the Kadayawan Festival in Davao City, Kagay-an Festival 2011 in Cagayan de Oro City and the 13th Tuna Festival in General Santos City, it's now time for another Mindanao festival --- Bonok-bonok 2011 Maradjaw Karadjaw Festival in Surigao! Bonok Bonok 2011, which officially starts on September 9, 2011, features ethnic mardi gras street dancing and other festivities. The contingent from Zamboanga Sibugay, Mindanao bagged the top prize during the Kagay-an Festival 2011 Folkloric Dance Competition (Plowtawo and Dance Showcase) held earlier today, August 26, 2011 at the Pelaez Sports Center, Cagayan de Oro City. The visiting contingent bagged the top prize in this year's "Plowtawo" and folkloric dance competition held in line with the 2011 Kagay-an Festival. The Kagay-an Festival coincides with the city fiesta held in honor of patron Saint Augustine. The Zamboanga Sibugay contingent received Php 250,000.00 cash prize and a trophy.
