Mindanaoan.com wins at Globe Media Excellence Awards GMEA 10

I WON! I am so proud and honored to share that Mindanaoan.com won the award for Digital Storytelling: Best Blog Post during the milestone year of the Globe Media Excellence Awards! On March 31, 2023 in Cebu City, the Globe Group named the winners of GMEA @10, which honors exceptional reporting across platforms in both Visayas and Mindanao.
In its milestone year, GMEA embraced the theme #OneDigitalNation, which celebrated stories that captured the impact of Globe-led innovations that uplift lives with compassion, care, and kindness.
For the Best Blog Post award, Maria Irene Aserios a.k.a. Mindanaoan won!
Days before the awarding ceremony, Globe announced the list of finalists. I was one of the 3 finalists for Best Blog Post (Mindanao). And then last March 31 in Cebu, I was declared as the winner.

Since its inception in 2012, GMEA has been a platform for recognizing the achievements of storytellers in the Philippines. The awards honored various media platforms, from traditional news outlets to social media advocates, for stories on a wide range of topics, from environmental conservation to social justice.
This 2023, Globe feted winners in 16 categories, including individuals and teams that showcased excellence in telling stories that touched on Globe’s sustainability pillars: Digital Nation, Care for People, and Care for the Environment. These pillars represent the company’s commitment to creating a balance between economic growth, social development, and environmental conservation.
