Finally, the BenMore Scotch Whisky bar tour is heading down south to Northern Mindanao! Along with its very handsome, smart and sexy brand ambassador Borgy Manotoc, BenMore Scotch Whisky will be formally introduced in Cagayan de Oro, Northern Mindanao, Philippines tomorrow, Friday, November 18, 2011. After the Manila and Cebu legs, Global Noble International Corp., the distributors of BenMore Scotch Whisky, will bring Borgy Manotoc to CDO for this BenMore bar tour. I've heard a lot of great feedback about this scotch whisky. For only about Php 380.00 (less than US $10), you can enjoy BenMore scotch whisky straight up, on the rocks or paired with cola, soda or iced tea. A lot of my friends swear the iced tea and BenMore Scotch Whisky pair tastes really good so I think I have to try th...

Announcements, Blogging, Business, Cagayan de Oro City, Consumer, Corporate, Davao City, Features, Food
Last year, I was one of the proud owners of a super cool Starbucks Philippines Planner 2011. I loved, loved, loved using it - my Starbucks Planner 2011 went with me almost everywhere! I wrote a lot of ideas, plans, strategies and thoughts on my 2011 Starbucks planner. I even shared a lot of my hopes and dreams in that planner --- and thankfully, a lot came true! So you could just imagine how happy I was to know that the Starbucks Planner 2012 was finally out! Instead of the usual 3 designs, though, Starbucks Philippines has released 5 really pretty designs this year. The Starbucks Planner 2012 - Philippine edition comes in 5 wooden finishes namely Poplar, Bamboo, Cherry, Spruce, and Oak. Each Starbucks 2012 Planner also comes with a free sleeve, a bookmark and 9 different coupons tha...

Happy 3rd anniversary to the Cagayan de Oro Bloggers or CDO Bloggers! I've been blessed to have met really great friends through this bloggers group so of course I had to celebrate their big 3rd birthday with them :) Okay, technically I'm not from CDO so technically I'm not supposed to be a part of the group but I'm an "honorary" member and the group members love me so there :P Seriously, I feel very comfortable spending time with this group because I learn a lot from them. I also absolutely love the fact that there's hardly any CDO Bloggers gathering that's not laced with a ton of laughter! These guys are, hands down, truly cool :) So cheers to you CDO Bloggers! Thank you for the fun times! Here's to more years of fun, fab friendship! A bongga jump shot to commemorate the big ...

Munato Festival 2011 in Sarangani

Announcements, Arts, Culture, Events, Festivals, Fiesta, General Santos City, Mindanaoan Artists, Mindanaoan Update, Sarangani, Tourism, Travel
Sarangani Province in Mindanao, Philippines has always fascinated me. First, because it's a haven of rich Filipino culture. Second, because it seems to be a great location for photography enthusiasts like myself. Third, because it has a lot of activities for tourists and fourth, because a former classmate of mine has successfully turned this Mindanao province into one of the busiest and most colorful places in the Philippines. Yup, I'm talking about incumbent Sarangani Governor Miguel Rene Dominguez. Today, Sarangani is no longer considered just as "that area you pass through" when you traverse the General Santos City - Davao City highway. It's now a tourism and business hub and a place that you really must visit whenever you're in SOCCSKSARGEN. If only you need to take a quick peek at ...

Early this week, my cousins, some friends and I went to the Dahilayan Adventure Park in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. Just in case you still do not know, Dahilayan Adventure Park is home to Asia's longest dual cable zipline --- all 840 meters of it! The Bukidnon zipline adventure park is also 4,500 meters above sea level so the climate there's pretty cold :) Anyways, I'll tell you more about my recent trip to this Bukidnon tourist spot in another post. If you want to see what went down during my first visit to Dahilayan Bukidnon zipline, though, you might want to read THIS. What I want to share now are some of the photos this Mindanao photographer took during a stopover at the Municipality of Impasugong, Bukidnon. Impasugong is about an hour and a half away from Manolo Fortich. It's a fi...

Resorts World Manila presents The Sound of Music

Well if you're a regular reader of this Mindanaoan.com blog, you'd probably know that I'm a frequent visitor of Resorts World Manila, that entertainment, food, shopping destination and luxury hotel complex right across the new Ninoy Aquino International Airport 3 (NAIA 3). There are a lot of reasons why I like Resorts World Manila a lot but I guess the best one would be the fact that I had one ultra amazing night there before and the results of that lucky night helped me and my Mom spend our first ever mother-daughter Valentine's Day celebration in Singapore and my entire family (me, my Mom and 3 younger brothers) spend a few glorious days in Hong Kong and Macau :) Yep, I only have fun memories about Resorts World Manila! Now, here's another reason for me (AND YOU!) to love Resort...

Personal: A quick hello (and am I the only one listening to Adele?)

Musings, Personal
A few hours ago, I wanted to start a new blog. Just a simple one. Something like Tumblr. Where you can just drown in your own thoughts and not worry about how others would think about you. I needed to write and vent out certain feelings. I needed to rant a little bit and cry a little bit. I thought that maybe it'd be easier if I write those types of entries in a separate blog. And then maybe keep the entries private. Or that only a few, carefully chosen people would know where and how to find them. I changed my mind. Mindanaoan.com plays a big part in my life. It's still my "main" blog so unless something utterly weird happens or if things already start becoming a little too uncomfortable, I'll still treat this as my main online space. I hope you guys are cool with that. This blog...

To borrow the words of Rajo - this carb blocker is truly heaven sent! And how can it not be? CarbTrim Iced Tea Mix literally BLOCKS carbohydrates! Carb Trim Iced Tea Mix helps eliminate unwanted carbohydrates that eventually turn into pesky body fat. Now before I go any further, let me tell you guys that CarbTrim isn't available in the market YET...but do watch out for their commercial that's set to air on October 16, 2011. This carb blocker will also be available in the market this October 2011. Made by Unilab for Myra Pharmaceuticals, CarbTrim is sugar free, comes in two flavors (apple and lemon...my favorite is the apple flavor - OMG you simply have to try it!) and contains white kidney bean extracts that help eliminate unwanted carbohydrates - those that you don't use as energy a...

Review: C5 Dormitel Davao City | Budget hotel Davao

Davao City, Davao Del Norte, Davao del Sur, Hotels, Mindanaoan Update, Reviews, Tourism, Travel
Looking for a cheap hotel in Davao City? If you need an affordable place to stay in Davao City, Mindanao, then you might want to consider a dormitel (dormitory + hostel/hotel). A dormitel may not have all the fancy amenities found in a hotel but it does offer the basics --- bed, washroom, shower, cable TV, aircon, wifi (in some cases). Just the right features for travelers who need a clean place to crash in and want value for their money. One Davao dormitel that you might want to check out is C5. Located along Roxas Avenue, C5 Dormitel Davao is just a block away from the Ateneo de Davao University campus along CM Recto. C5 Dormitel is also just a few steps away from the renowned Marco Polo Hotel Davao and the tourist favorite Aldevinco Shopping Mall. So location is pretty good. C5 Do...

Boxing coach Freddie Roach: Manny Pacquiao is broke

Freddie Roach, the longtime coach of Filipino boxing champ and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao, shocked a lot of people when he allegedly said downright that the world boxing champion is broke. Yup, as in broke, wala nay kuwarta, no more money, wala nang pera. Freddie Roach's statement baffled a lot of people and not a few expressed their doubts. After all, didn't Manny Pacquiao just buy a multi-million mansion at Forbes Park? Doesn't he give millions away in his GMA 7 show "Manny Many Prizes"? Doesn't he and wife Jinkee Pacquiao have a lot of businesses not only in General Santos City, Sarangani, Davao City but even in Manila as well? Is it really possible that Manny Pacquiao, whose latest guaranteed purse from the bout with Shane Mosley last May 2011 was a staggering US 20 Million, i...
