3rd Mindanao Fashion Summit schedule

One of the highlights of the much-awaited Higalaay Kagay-an Festival 2014 is the 3rd Mindanao Fashion Summit, a convergence of some of Mindanao's most talented fashion designers. The 3-day event, which will be held on August 8 to 10, 2014 at the Rotunda of Limketkai Mall, Cagayan de Oro City, will showcase the works of the likes of Boogie Musni Rivera, Gil Macaibay III, Benjie Manuel, Mavy Cooper De Leon, Mark Christopher Yaranon, Alma Mae Roa and John Mark Magallanes. Grand opening of Pulse Music Club Malaybalay Bukidnon

Pulse Music Club is perhaps the longest-standing live music venue and dance club in Cagayan de Oro City. Islands Souvenirs CDO to open 2 stores

Islands Souvenirs is set to open two stores in Cagayan de Oro in the next few weeks. Best known as the Philippines' top brand for souvenir items, Islands Souvenirs is actually making a comeback of sorts in CDO. They first opened a branch in the 90's. Now on this comeback of sorts, the first Islands Souvenirs CDO store to open, according to their President, Jay Aldeguer (who, by the way, is one of my idols in business, advocacy and corporate social responsibility!), will be the Lim Ket Kai branch located at the 1st level, East Wing (the entrance closest to Starbucks Lim Ket Kai, Shopwise CDO and Missy BonBon). Kaamulan Festival 2014 in Bukidnon moved

The Kaamulan Festival 2014 in Bukidnon will now be celebrated the entire month of August. In the past few years, Bukidnon celebrates Kaamulan Festival every end of February to March 10, supposedly the day the province celebrates its founding anniversary. However, the Provincial Government of Bukidnon has recently passed a resolution stating that the founding anniversary should be celebrated every September. To clarify, however, Kaamulan Festival has been celebrated every August before. So I guess this development is more like a "homecoming" (to the original date!) of sorts :) The culmination of the 2014 Kaamulan Festival will be held on September 1. The year 2013 has truly been a good year for me, especially in terms of my passion for blogging and social media. Last October 2013, this Mindanao blogger bagged not only the Best Lifestyle Blog award but the most coveted Mindanao Blogger of the Year 2013 recognition! South Border, Side A, Freestyle in 1 concert – Yolanda fundraiser

It's been a month since deadly typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) struck the Philippines. The death toll so far - 5,260. Unfortunately, that number is still increasing. Haiyan, a category 5 super typhoon, left thousands of people homeless and hungry. While it's true that billions of dollars in aid have started to pour in, the fight is still not over. Far from it. Hence, every fundraising event, volunteer movement and donation drive really counts. One upcoming fundraising event for typhoon Yolanda survivors, dubbed "Pag-Asa Sa Pag Gising," is close to my heart. Gin Blossoms to hold Haiyan benefit concert #GBFansRockPhilippines

Last month, during a concert in Manila, I met really cool, talented, down-to-earth and generous guys. Those guys were Robin Wilson, Scott Johnson, Jesse Valenzuela and Scott Hessel a.k.a. Gin Blossoms. Yes, the very same guys who made "Hey Jealousy," "Till I Hear It From You," "As Long As It Matters" and "Follow You Down" smash hits worldwide. Never mind if their "As Long As It Matters" song is a Grammy-nominated creation and that it has earned the band more than 9 Million in sales in the US alone. They were very sweet, approachable and have hearts of gold.
