I was a Miss Kasanggayahan pageant judge

In an earlier post, I shared all about my fun visit to Sorsogon Capitol to see my dear friend (and ok, sige na nga, super crush!) former Senator now Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero.

I was in Sorsogon, the name of which means “to trace a river upstream,” because Sir Chiz, Miss Malu and the Sorsogon Tourism Office invited me for a fun and exciting task – to be one of the judges of the most-awaited annual beauty pageant of the province, Miss Kasanggayahan!

I was so thrilled and readily accepted the invitation. It was my chance to see lovely Sorsogon, see old friends and meet new ones and of course, to observe Sir Chiz in his turf. As expected, he was so chill as he roamed around, drove his own vehicle and hosted us for lunch and dinner.

By the way, he was so excited to share his favorites at a restaurant he frequents (“Irene, you HAVE to try the baby squid in olive oil!”) and he was doubly excited when he cooked some of the delicious meals served during dinner!

Anyway, here’s a video I made during my Miss Kasanggayahan 2019 beauty pageant judge experience. I flew from Cagayan de Oro to Cebu City then to Legazpi City. Thanks so much to Herschel for my eye-catching (never fails, I tell you!) and very durable trolley bag and Native Shoes for my super comfortable and super light shoes! In Cagayan de Oro, you can buy your Herschel and Native Shoes essentials at Ayala Centrio Mall.

At Legazpi Airport, by the way, I met the pageant hosts and other judges and we were all driven to Sorsogon (about an hour away).

Thanks again to Sir Chiz, Miss Malu, Miss Cris, Sir Bobby, to my fellow judges and to everyone whom I had the honor to meet in Sorsogon. Daghang salamat! I hope to be back real soon 🙂
