Diyandi Festival 2013 Iligan schedule of activities

One of the awaited Mindanao festivals this September is Diyandi, a month-long cultural celebration in Iligan City. Diyandi Festival 2013 is celebrated in honor of Iligan City’s patron Saint Michael the Archangel. Diyandi Festival culminates every September 29 – this is St. Michael’s feast day.

Diyandi means “celebrate.” And this year, there are lots of reasons to celebrate! The City Government of Iligan has prepared lots of activities including a fun run, beauty pageant, film festival, concerts etc. (speaking of concerts, don’t forget to catch Rivermaya on Sept. 29 – I’ll post more details about this soon)

Check out the Diyandi Festival 2013 schedule of activities (this is still a partial list, for updates please visit the Diyandi Festival FB page):

Here’s what happened during Diyandi 2011 and Diyandi 2012.

How to get to Iligan City:

From Manila, take a direct flight to Cagayan de Oro City. Flights take about an hour and 15 minutes. You will land at the Laguindingan Airport, which is about an hour away from Iligan City. Here’s a Laguindingan Airport guide. From Cebu, you can either take a ferry going to Iligan or take a 30-minute flight to CDO. If you’re coming from any part in Mindanao, you can take a public bus to Iligan City.
