Surigao: Siargao International Surfing Cup on

Despite the alleged pull-out of Billabong as sponsor, the Siargao International Surfing Competition is still a go. The said surfing cup, Siargao, Surigao del Norte's biggest annual event, will start on September 24, 2010 at Cloud 9, General Luna, Siargao, Mindanao. The Siargao International Surfing Cup will take place for 6 days and will reportedly see the participation of at least 32 international surfers. There will also be 12 Pinoy surfers who will join the said international surfing competition. Siargao is, as we all know, largely considered as the surfing capital of the Philippines. General Santos City, Mindanao is set to celebrate the much-awaited Tuna Festival 2010 on September 18 to 26, 2010. This, after the Tuna Festival Council of GenSan decided to change this year's schedule. Normally, the Tuna Fest is celebrated during the first week of September. Following the FREE wi-fi launches in other SM malls including SM City Cebu, SM CITY Cagayan de Oro now offers FREE wi-fi access! FINALLY! So now SM CDO does not only offer uptown shopping, dining and entertaining experience...they now also offer free Internet! Yay! :) SM City Cagayan de Oro had its free wifi launch event last October 18, 2009 at the Atrium, Ground Floor area. Unfortunately, Mindanaoan wasn't able to attend since I was in Davao City at that time. I did hear that everyone who went had a good time, though! DSS Fireworks Dumaguete wins 1st Cagayan Pyrolympics during Kagay-an Festival 2009

The award-winning DSS Fireworks of Dumaguete City bagged the grand prize in the recently concluded 1st Cagayan de Oro Fireworks Competition (Pyrolympics) held at the Gran Via Lot (beside SM City CDO). DSS Fireworks, a four-time grand champion of Buglasan Festival in San Carlos, also got the top prize during the Sinulog Festival 2009 fireworks contest. Mindanaoan was among the thousands of people who trooped to the Gran Via Lot last August 29, 2009 to witness the fireworks display. I went with my brother Bon, who fortunately brought his motorcycle. So today, Sunday, February 22, 2009, is the fifth day since the "soft opening" of the Kaamulan Festival 2009 celebration here in the Province of Bukidnon, Mindanao. I'm here because my team and I (meaning my very helpful brothers and I) are in-charge of some Kaamulan 2009 events. We regularly have a lot of responsibilities every Kaamulan time and it's something that we just love to do. The curious case of the CagayanCon 2009 website and a controversy?

The 1st Cagayan de Oro Construction Show 2009 (CagayanCon '09) was held last January 16, 17 and 18, 2009 at the Rotunda, Lim Ket Kai Mall, Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao, Philippines. The event aims to pool together stakeholders (from construction businessmen to manufacturers to suppliers to end consumers) in the construction industry. I must admit, I didn't hear about the event up until I was actually inside Limketkai Mall last Sunday, January 18, the last day of the exhibit. I was in town (CDO) for the day and I noticed the many booths at the Rotunda area of the said famous Cagayan de Oro mall.
