I have been meaning to write a mini travel guide for folks who plan to take a Cagayan de Oro to Davao City flight. A lot of readers have been asking me what to expect, what to do etc if and when they do take a CDO to Davao City flight so here it is – a quick and simple guide for travelers. Hope this helps those who will travel from Cagayan de Oro City to Davao City π Please don’t forget to leave a comment below π
The Cagayan de Oro City airport is located in Lumbia (for now – since the Laguindingan International Airport will soon be operational). The CDO airport terminal fee is only Php 30.00 (less than US $1.00). The Davao City domestic airport terminal fee, on the other hand, is Php 200.00 (roughly US $5.00).
This is how the CDO airport pre-departure area looks like:
The Cagayan de Oro Lumbia airport used to offer free WiFi services but I’m not sure if they still do. Last week, I only noticed a CAAP-sponsored WiFi signal but the connection required a username and password. I was too lazy to ask if the Internet service was free or what.
I took an Airphil Express Cagayan de Oro to Davao flight. Here’s how the Airphil Express plane looked like:
I just love Airphil Express. My most recent Cagayan de Oro to Davao flight was on time. Plus I also like the fact that they still offer FREE 10kg baggage. Although I do my best to travel light, it’s still nice to know that I am entitled to FREE 10kg baggage allotment. An Airphil Express CDO to Davao flight takes about 30 minutes. And no, there are no irritating games on-board π
Took this photo during our final approach towards Davao City:
Welcome to Davao City, my hometown π The Davao City airport is also known as the Francisco Bangoy International Airport. This one’s located in Lanang:
You’ll pass through this hallway on your way to the luggage area

Now when you arrive in Davao City and you need to take a taxi, just look for the taxi stand across the airport arrival area. An airport personnel will hand you a piece of paper with numbers to call in case you need to file a complaint etc. In Davao City, taxi drivers are not allowed to negotiate fares with passengers. Taxi drivers must follow the flag down and metered rates. Do not hesitate to file a complaint against erring taxi drivers. By the way, when you reach the airport gates, security personnel will ask for your last name. This is a security measure so don’t be alarmed π
