Gaisano Mall of Davao, one of the large malls in the world’s most livable city, now has a large, spacious cinema equipped with lazyboy (or rather La-Z-Boy) seats! For only P150.00, you can enjoy sitting on a very comfortable, cushiony seat with foot rest at the Red Carpet cinema!
The theater is very spacious and you get a lot of extra leg room. What I did notice, however, was that the seats come in two. Meaning if you’re going to watch a movie solo, there may be a possibility that someone else will also occupy the adjoining lazyboy seat. So I guess the Gaisano Mall of Davao Red Carpet cinema encourages catching flicks with a friend ๐ You also have your very own cup holder and extra space for small things (like perhaps your cellphone or car keys).
It’s not my first time to watch in a cinema with recliner seats or seats with foot rests, though. I like watching movies at Greenbelt Cinema in Makati and at Gateway Mall Cubao (the former has a cinema with recliner seats and foot rests) and my favorite so far – the Director’s Club at SM Mall of Asia. At the latter, you get your very own La-Z-Boy seat (solo!), the next seat is about a meter away (so you get the feeling that you’re in your very own recreation room) and you get unlimited popcorn and a drink. However, there’s a catch — tickets cost at least P300.00 So you see, the Gaisano Mall of Davao Red Carpet cinema ticket price of P150.00 is already A-OK ๐
The Gaisano Mall of Davao Red Carpet cinema with lazyboy seats is located at the very entrance towards the cinema area at the topmost floor of the said Davao City mall. You can’t miss it – it’s the only one with a mini reception area (complete with a cute egg chair!) and well…fully carpeted floors ๐
I guess because the Gaisano Mall of Davao Red Carpet cinema is still fairly new, they still don’t have a computerized system in place. My companion and I did have the option to choose our seats, though. However, we were made to choose from a computer printout which depicted a map of the seats of sorts.
Check out the ticket that they gave us:
So I guess this is something they have yet to improve. Still, our Gaisano Mall of Davao Red Carpet cinema experience was cool and the P150.00 charge is very well worth it.
What about you? How was your experience like?

red carpet sucks!we went there to watch avatar and bought seats for 2 @ P180 each, when we went in, the seat assigned to us was already occupied, when the usherette checked, the ones already there had the same number on our stub. there was a double sale of the ticket, the one manning the ticket booth didnt check that it was already sold, we were then given another seat but we had to share it with a complete stranger which really was not a welcome idea to us. so we went out and got a refund. what a lousy system. still relying on the manual system which really sucks!!!when are we going to have the real guaranteed seats in cinemas here in davao…
Oh no =( It’s unfortunate to know that you had a bad experience. I agree with the manual system, though. It did suck but hopefully they’ll have a more high tech measure soon.
Nice! It’s nice to see these kinds of developments at Gaisano Mall. ๐
red carpet thumbs up!!! my kids enjoyed it so much. Guaranteed seats indeed.
I like Red Carpet too! Tried it for the second time, good experience pa din.
I watched Percy Jackson there last night
The whole place made up for the disappointing movie.
I spilled fries on the carpet (Shhh) hahaha
But otherwise I had a great time, considering the couches and stuff
What? The movie sucked??? I’m supposed to watch that tomorrow! Yikes!!!
