This post is the second for Mindanaoan’s “Things To Do [in a particular Mindanao city or Mindanao province]” series. Here’s one thing you can do if you’ve done just about everything in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao (dubbed the City of Golden Friendship) and you need something to keep yourself preoccupied – play bingo! Yup, I’ve been “bingo crazy” these past few weeks. First, I played at a recent charity bingo event in Casino Filipino, Grand Regal Hotel, Davao City and then a week later, I found myself playing bingo for two days (!) in Lim Ket Kai Mall, CDO. Not that all I did was play bingo, of course. I also shopped in between games, ate and watched “Twilight” (which, in my own humble opinion, by the way, was more of hype and cheesy teenybopper-kilig lines…Robert Pattinson is a bit of a charmer, though, and he was cute in Harry Potter — he played Cedric, remember?)
Anyways, my 2-day bingo experience in LimKetKai Mall wasn’t all in vain, mind you! I WON TWICE! 😀 My first win was supposed to be P1,000.00 but there were two of us so each of us only got P500.00 (the bingo card was worth P5.00). That happened during my first day playing bingo. On the second day, I won again. The pot money was P1,500.00 (the bingo card I bought was worth P10.00) but again, there were two winners (the other winner was in Iligan City…apparently, the bingo games in CDO were also broadcasted live via Skype in Iligan…high tech, di ba?) so each of us only received P750.00. Not much but hey, I had fun! Plus at least I had money for lunch and dinner 🙂
