GMA 7 is really gearing up its efforts to promote their television programs and artists via regional events these days. In fact, I think GMA Channel 7 is keen on holding more and more promotional events not only in key cities but even in smaller towns and municipalities around Mindanao. Proof of this is their string of Kapuso Nights around Mindanao (and yes, in Visayas and Luzon as well). GMA 7 Kapuso Nights have so far been held in General Santos City, Iligan, Davao City, Cagayan de Oro, Bukidnon, South Cotabato and other areas in Mindanao. More will still be held in the next few weeks. Anyways, here are some photos taken during a GMA 7 Kapuso Night in Mindanao featuring Dingdong Dantes, Kyla and Moymoy Palaboy: Apart from the musical production numbers from the GMA 7 art...

Advocacy, Announcements, Arts, Davao City, Entertainment, Features, General Santos City, Headline, Media, Mindanaoan Update, Personalities, Sarangani
I must admit, I'm not a huge fan of Starstruck, GMA 7's reality artista-based search. In fact, I haven't watched a single episode of this reality TV show in its entirety but I am familiar with some of its alumni - Jennylyn Mercado, Mark Herras, LJ Reyes and Katrina Halili. Things may change soon, though, since I just learned that there are several Mindanaoans in the top 60 of Starstruck's latest season, Starstruck V. Check out the names in bold below: Adam Santos Hussein, 22, Pasig City Edward Benosa, 19, Quezon City Shereef Ibrahim, 19, Quezon City John Paul Joseph Cadayona, 20, Las Pinas April Ian Jamin, 19, Cebu City Jacob Sales, 19, Bacolod City William Zarib Papageorghiou, 18, Marikina City Aldous Erwin Santiago, Bulacan Luis Hontiveros, 17, Marikina City Jetrix Pasaman...

Kimmy Dora was hilarious! Congratulations Eugene Domingo and Spring Films!

This is a long-delayed post, I know, since I'm pretty sure most of you have already watched this film (if you haven't yet, you're missing a whole damn lot!!!) However, I still want to write about this since I gave my word to Erickson Raymundo (one of the producers of the film, along with fellow Spring Films people Joyce Bernal and Piolo Pascual) that I'll write about this. Kimmy Dora Kambal Sa Kiyeme was so damn funny, wasn't it? Erickson, you were right on the money! :) Hearty congratulations to Eugene Domingo (you were so fab! I think you're the only Pinay actress who successfully made my mom laugh so damn hard! LOL), Dingdong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo (hello, six pack!), Miriam Quiambao (you surprised me!), Ariel Ureta and Baron Geisler! My mom and I watched this flick in one of the ...

Fetching Shamrock and tips on a road trip with artists or celebrities

Mindanaoan Update has been a crazy time the past few days but it's all worth it! Mindanaoan had fun fetching Shamrock, the almost 3-hour road trip was fun as well and the show itself was very successful! Kuwentos about the show will be posted on another entry, though. For now, I'd like to share some of my personal thoughts and tips for budding event organizers out there or budding personal assistants for celebrities or artists. These tips will come in handy when you need to fetch performers, celebrities or artists from the airport, pier, bus terminal etc. and then if you need to go on a road trip (if the venue of the concert, let's say, is about 3 hours away) Please feel free to share your thoughts, too! 1. Always check and re-check the booking contract. See if the artists or celebritie...
