Bingo crazy at Lim Ket Kai Mall Cagayan de Oro

This post is the second for Mindanaoan’s “Things To Do [in a particular Mindanao city or Mindanao province]” series. Here's one thing you can do if you've done just about everything in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao (dubbed the City of Golden Friendship) and you need something to keep yourself preoccupied - play bingo! Yup, I've been "bingo crazy" these past few weeks. First, I played at a recent charity bingo event in Casino Filipino, Grand Regal Hotel, Davao City and then a week later, I found myself playing bingo for two days (!) in Lim Ket Kai Mall, CDO. Not that all I did was play bingo, of course. Sony Philippines sets up display exhibits in CDO, Davao

All right, so because Mindanaoan has really been (and is still is!) overwhelmed by the massive traffic to THIS POST about her first Sony experience (DAGHANG SALAMAT! Many thanks!), she's also inspired to share another round of good news to all of you Mindanaoans who want to buy Sony products or gadgets for your loved ones this Christmas. By the way, NO is the answer to the question if I got a VIP invitation to the recently concluded Sony Expo in SM Mall of Asia. So, NO, my entry wasn't one of the 50 shortlisted entries. Team Oro, a Cagayan de Oro, Mindanao-based group composed of very talented photographers, stylists, visual artists and graphic designers, is currently presenting an event dubbed "Red X: The Jonathan Neri Photography Xperience" at the Cagayan de Oro City Tourism Showhouse, Divisoria. Shie Corporation CDO launches logo and icon contest

A new Filipino fashion company called Shie Corporation, which is soon to open in the City of Golden Friendship, Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao, Philippines has launched a company logo and brand icon contest. The competition, which is open to all creative artists from all over the Philippines, will close on Saturday, November 1, 2008. There will be 2 categories for the contest namely the company logo design category and the brand icon design category. Getting primped up at Jesi Mendez Salon Cagayan de Oro City

Ever since my House of Representatives days, I’ve always wanted to visit a Jesi Mendez Salon branch and see what the fuss was all about. You see, a lot of my Manila-based friends rave about how they like the salon, the hairdressers and the services. Many wives of congressmen-friends also visit the salon for their regular hair treatments. However, being the “kuripot” (cheapskate) Mindanaoan that I am, my plan just remained a plan for years until finally, I had the chance (and the money!) to go last weekend. It seems like Cagayan de Oro City is fast becoming the new to-go-to venue for concerts in Mindanao. Fresh from hosting a couple of big concerts like Concert King Martin Nievera's XXV and the Earth, Wind and Fire Experience in CDO show, the "City of Golden Friendship" is poised to host another big event in the next few days.
