GCash now in the United States, enables Filipinos to sign up with US numbers

GCash Overseas has officially landed in the United States, allowing the first 1,000 Filipinos there to sign up for the Philippines’ number one financial app by using their US mobile numbers. This is definitely good news especially for those who frequently send money back home.

Filipinos in the US can begin signing up for GCash regardless of their SIM cards and start supporting their families back home by sending money for FREE (GCash to GCash), paying bills, and buying them prepaid load credits.

GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon said that they are also preparing for a full launch later this year.

Earlier this month, GCash received the green light from the BSP to start the initial launch of its overseas service which allowed Filipinos in Japan, Australia, and Italy to use GCash using any SIM from those countries. This has made GCash the first and only e-wallet in the Philippines to offer this kind of service overseas.

How to register and how to cash in:

Users in the US and Australia can also cash in for free via Remitly. They just have to download or open their Remitly app, select GCash as the e-wallet; enter the recipient’s name and mobile numbers; confirm the details and transfer the amount; and receive the funds straight in the GCash Overseas wallet. Finally, fully verified users can start sending money, paying bills, and buying load wherever they are, with just a few taps on the app.

GCash can also now be used to pay in select merchants across countries like Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and Qatar as well as top European destinations like the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy.
