Greenwich Pizza SM CDO sports new look, launches Bacon Crispy Thins

Something happened to the Greenwich Pizza restaurant at SM City Cagayan de Oro. A first of its kind in CDO, Greenwich SM CDO has been transformed into a pizzeria, similar to what you can see all over Italy! The new restaurant is now dressed up with wood and brick elements, now has a "balcony" (which can serve as a mini event place) and even has high tables, chairs, bar stools and couches. The new look has a rustic feel - complete with wooden pizza peels, tin buckets as well as colorful ceramics. The said Social Media Day or SMDay event was just one of the hundreds being celebrated all over the world that day. I immediately said yes, since this is part of my ongoing advocacy as IVLP alumnae. SM Cagayan de Oro Digital Theater opens today!

Thanks to Kagay-an.com's Mike Banos, I found out that the grand launching of the much-awaited Digital Theater at SM City Cagayan de Oro is set to happen today, November 12, 2010, 5 PM. The SM Digital Theater banners the promise that the movies that will be shown there will be "so clear and so real." At around 6 PM, the blockbuster film "Avatar" will be shown in the brand new SM CdO Digital Theater. Can't help but wonder, though, if they'll show the original "Avatar" or the one that has the extra 8 minute footage. Anyways, the said digital theater isn't the first in Mindanao. Gaisano Mall Davao City already has a digital theater. The one in SM CDO, however, is the first in Northern Mindanao. I've tried watching films in IMAX, 3D and Digital Theaters. In celebration of Women's Week, SM City Cagayan de Oro, along with top retail brands Penshoppe, Mint, Folded and Hung, Maldita and Bossini, hosted the "Hot Hunks Fashion Show" featuring no less than the current toast of the local fashion world, Brazilian-Japanese (Brapanese) hottie Akihiro Sato. Following the FREE wi-fi launches in other SM malls including SM City Cebu, SM CITY Cagayan de Oro now offers FREE wi-fi access! FINALLY! So now SM CDO does not only offer uptown shopping, dining and entertaining experience...they now also offer free Internet! Yay! :) SM City Cagayan de Oro had its free wifi launch event last October 18, 2009 at the Atrium, Ground Floor area. Unfortunately, Mindanaoan wasn't able to attend since I was in Davao City at that time. I did hear that everyone who went had a good time, though! The CDO Bloggers, this year's organizers of the much-awaited Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3, were invited to the event. Gifts were given away and there even was a best blog contest that day. Fun! I, Mindanaoan, was finally able to "introduce" my mom to the renowned Roadhouse Cafe baby back ribs. I say renowned because a lot of foodies and food experts have already given their thumbs up on the baby back ribs served at Roadhouse Cafe. Roadhouse Cafe serves Asian and Western cuisine. Its first and original branch can be found along Sayre Highway (national highway), Valencia City, Bukidnon, Mindanao. It now has a second branch at SM City Cagayan de Oro. Cagayan de Oro is roughly 2 and a half hours away from Valencia City. Reasonably priced, Roadhouse Cafe's baby back ribs tastes a bit sweet and tangy. DSS Fireworks Dumaguete wins 1st Cagayan Pyrolympics during Kagay-an Festival 2009

The award-winning DSS Fireworks of Dumaguete City bagged the grand prize in the recently concluded 1st Cagayan de Oro Fireworks Competition (Pyrolympics) held at the Gran Via Lot (beside SM City CDO). DSS Fireworks, a four-time grand champion of Buglasan Festival in San Carlos, also got the top prize during the Sinulog Festival 2009 fireworks contest. Mindanaoan was among the thousands of people who trooped to the Gran Via Lot last August 29, 2009 to witness the fireworks display. I went with my brother Bon, who fortunately brought his motorcycle.
