Souvenirs from CDO? Look no further - Islands Souvenirs is finally back in Cagayan de Oro! In a post here on Mindanaoan.com about two weeks ago, I shared that Islands Souvenirs is set to open two stores in Cagayan de Oro. Well, the first one is finally open! Located at the 1st level, East Wing (East Concourse Annex, below the escalator, in front of the ATM row), Limketkai Mall, Islands Souvenirs CDO has truly made quite a comeback :) They first opened a branch in the 90's and now the Philippines' top brand for souvenir items is back with a bang! Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum in Singapore

Apart from the Sri Mariamman Temple, another favorite tourist attraction in Chinatown District, Singapore is the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum. Founded in 2002 by Venerable Shi Fa Zhao, the temple is dedicated to the Maitreya Buddha, which means ‘The Compassionate One" or "The Future Buddha." California Berry Davao – frozen yogurt delight in Mindanao

I was in Manila during the first wave of the so-called "froyo" or frozen yogurt craze. As a self-proclaimed Mindanaoan foodie, I visited almost every available frozen yogurt store (and yep, basically said adieu to my diet!) and I often wondered when the "froyo" craze would invade Mindanao. Fast forward a few months later, the frozen yogurt trend has finally penetrated Mindanao - there are now frozen yogurt businesses in Davao City and Cagayan de Oro City. I'm pretty sure more frozen yogurt businesses will sprout in other Mindanao areas. The froyo outlet I most recently visited was California Berry. Wow, Mindanaoan has been bombarded with so many requests for more pictures of John Lloyd Cruz during the Kapamilya Karavan 2009 in Cagayan de Oro City. This Mindanao blogger has sooo many photos of the Filipino actor (and apparently with the number of requests...a certified heartthrob, too!) and I really need time to sift through all of them but just to appease his legion of fans...here's a video I took during the event. Pardon the quality of the video as I only used my LG Arena phone to record John Lloyd Cruz as he sang "Ngiti." Meeting the CDO Bloggers group

MINDANAO - I'm currently in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao and just got back from a pretty fruitful meeting with some of the members of the CDO Bloggers group. Mindanaoan joined their regular officers' meeting and pitched in some of my thoughts for the upcoming Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3, which will be held in Cagayan de Oro City come October 24, 2009. The meeting was held at one of the coffee shops here in the City of Golden Friendship. I found the CDO Bloggers to be very friendly and warm. They also welcomed new ideas and suggestions.
