A Filipino-American beauty bagged the Laga Ta Bukidnon 2014 crown last night, August 17, 2014 during the Miss Bukidnon Centennial coronation night held at the Kaamulan Open Theater in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
Miss Malaybalay 2014 Marah Smith won the Laga Ta Bukidnon 2014 title. Smith, a student of Central Mindanao University and who also won the Miss CMU Palaro crown, is half-Filipino, half-American. Her mother is from Malaybalay City while her father is African-American.

Miss Kagay-an 2012 update! Here are the photos of the official candidates of the Miss Kagay-an 2012 pageant. I know a lot of you have been asking me for the Miss Kagay-an 2012 photos so here they are. This Filipino blogger was able to attend the press presentation of these lovely Miss Kagayan Festival 2012 candidates last Monday, July 23, 2012 and the organizing committee released these photos.

A few months ago, a Mindanaoan beauty bagged the Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2011 crown. Shamcey Supsup of General Santos City bested the other candidates and brought home the crown.
The topnotcher of the June 2010 architect licensure exam, Shamcey Supsup also graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines - Diliman. This 24 year old, 5' 7 and 1/4" General Santos City beauty is indeed beauty and brains combined!

This year’s Ms. Kagay-an 2011 is a grand gathering of 12 equally talented and beautiful young ladies from Cagayan de Oro which will promise to make the Pageant Night something to watch out for.

Earlier today, the Senate Committee on Environment and Natural Resources conducted a hearing on alleged smuggling of black corals, turtles, seashells and other marine life. The committee chairman, Mindanaoan Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, led the investigation.
Unfortunately, the consignee of the P35 million worth of seized shipment of black corals, Exequiel Navarro, was a no-show. This led Senator Migs Zubiri to cite Exequiel Navarro in contempt.
And rightly so.
For one, Navarro reportedly promised to cooperate with the investigation and even give the names of the financiers of this syndicate that allegedly smuggles corals and other marine life from the Philippine shores.
