Must-visit: Hanamaruken Ramen Cebu

Must-visit: Hanamaruken Ramen Cebu

Cebu City, Food, Restaurant, Reviews
From Osaka to Cebu! Hanamaruken Ramen is in the Queen City of the South! From Osaka, Japan to Cebu, this home of the famous melt-in-your-mouth soft bone pork rib ramen is spreading awesome joy and flavors! Went to Streetscape in Banilad, Cebu to experience their authentic Japanese dining experience. We had the Signature Happiness Ramen, the Arakawa Special and the ebi tempura. Sooo good! For me, the Arakawa Special had a sharper taste. It’s shoyu tonkotsu broth topped with kakuni, a quarter portion of slow-braised soft bone pork rib, negi and naruto. Meanwhile, the Happiness Signature Ramen was also good and was definitely true to its name! It’s shoyu tonkotsu broth topped with a half portion of slow-braised soft bone pork rib, negi and naruto. The ebi tempura was crispy and d...
Malatang Sichuan cuisine at Yang Hero IT Park Cebu

Malatang Sichuan cuisine at Yang Hero IT Park Cebu

Cebu City, Food, Mindanaoan Update
Malatang for dinner is always a great idea Lami kaayo! My partner and I had a great time at Yang Hero, located along the Garden Row of Ayala Central Bloc, Cebu IT Park Yang Hero Cebu serves delicious Sichuan cuisine. My dinner companion and I had both the Chinese and BBQ buns to start, he had braised beef (it came with free soup also) and then we shared our malatang, which mostly had seafood, with basic broth. If you’re a fan of spicy food, choose the sichuan broth. Another option is the tomato-based one. Basically, you can choose from over 30 ingredients that you can place in your malatang! Aside from seafood, we also included veggies, tofu (yum!), scallops, seaweed and fungi (yup you read that right haha!) Service was OK. We had to wait for several minutes for our table to be re...

Superb Cebu buffet: Why Tokyo Table is a must-visit

Cebu City, Features, Food, Reviews, Visayas
I'm still on a Japan high! So high that I'm already planning my next trip there! I actually did something that had a touch of Japan even before I actually went to Japan! I visited a superb, much-talked about Yakiniku buffet restaurant in Cebu and savored okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake), lots of ramen (yum!) and grilled squid and salmon (the Japanese love their seafood!). I went to Tokyo Table, one of the best buffet restaurants in Cebu. Located at City Time Square, Mantawi Avenue, Tipolo, Mandaue City, Tokyo Table Cebu eat all you can restaurant serves an impressive array of food choices – from seafood-all-you-can and raw meats that you can grill on your own or with the able assistance of the restaurant’s friendly staff (each table has a grill plate) to a sushi and dimsum station to ...

Cebu to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia – MSMW 2014 Chronicles

Cebu City, Flights, Food, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Travel
I'm back from Malaysia! :) I previously wrote here on my blog that this Mindanao blogger was invited to speak at the Malaysia Social Media Week 2014 (MSMW 2014) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Stayed in Kuala Lumpur for almost a week and truly loved my stay. It wasn't my first trip to Malaysia but it certainly had its fair share of amazing memories. Will be sharing with you all my Malaysia adventures (and misadventures, too)! My first post will be about my quick one-day stay in Cebu before heading towards Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Since there aren't any direct flights from Mindanao to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I requested the Malaysia Social Media Week 2014 (MSMW 2014) organizers to fly me out from Cebu City, which was a 20-minute flight away from Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao. One of my brot...

So after our Cebu island hopping adventure with Islands Banca Cruises, what better way to cap off the day (and to celebrate my brother's birthday) but to check out Cafe Marco at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu? Cafe Marco is the popular and award-winning signature restaurant of Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, the only 5 star hotel in Cebu City, Visayas, Philippines. Dubbed as the "Best Buffet Restaurant" by a lifestyle magazine, there's really hardly any wonder why Cafe Marco is one of Cebu City's most favorite buffet restaurants. The well-lighted and tastefully designed restaurant seats 144 guests and has 4 very clean, interactive kitchens that offer Asian, Western, Japanese and Filipino cuisine. Cafe Marco at Marco Polo Cebu also has a salad and cold appetizers bar, a grilling and tempura station and...
