Or shall we say "help d'FEET breast cancer"? :) Here's good news for runners in CDO and neighboring areas. This is also great news for those who want to help support a great advocacy. Join the Pink Run CDO event and help defeat breast cancer! The Pink Run Cagayan de Oro event will be held on October 7, 2012 at Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City. This CDO event will have 4 running categories: 1K, 3K, 5K and 10K. Registration starts on September 15, 2012 at the Spruce and Puma stores in Limketkai Mall. The 3rd Silver Linings forum on breast cancer in Davao City

As far as I know, no one in my clan has ever been diagnosed with breast cancer. I am, of course, extremely grateful for that. My mom did tell me, though, that there were instances when some of our female relatives reported to have felt lumps but these turned out to be benign tumors. However, just because I don't know (or I'm not related to) someone who has breast cancer should not stop me (and all of us, really) to advocate breast cancer prevention. After all, breast cancer is said to be the leading cause of cancer deaths among Filipino women. Thankfully, an educational forum cum homecoming for breast cancer survivors will be held in my hometown Davao City. AVON Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer Walk successfully held in Mindanao

My mom and I joined the Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao leg of the AVON Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer Walk for A Cause last Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the kiosk area, Divisoria. The fundraiser, which was participated in by hundreds of ladies (and gents!) all garbed in pink, aimed to push advocacy for women’s health and fitness, breast cancer awareness as well as women’s protection against breast cancer. The walk started at around 6 am. The crowd then reconvened at the kiosk area at around 9 am and a short program was held. There were speakers from hospitals and schools who spoke about the importance of mammography, regular breast check-ups, awareness on the causes and effects of cancer etc. Bands from Xavier University's Soundtable group also performed intermission numbers. CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, MINDANAO - An AVON Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer walk will be held on October 4, 2009 at the Kiosk area, Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro City, Northern Mindanao. This fundraiser aims to push advocacy for women's health and fitness as well as women's protection against breast cancer. During the event, which will start at around 6 am, t-shirts will be sold for only P149.00. P20.00 for every shirt will go to the breast cancer fund of the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC).
