Mindanaoan Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao will again star in a major Nike commercial --- but this time, he will be joined by two other sports giants - NBA star Kobe Bryant and golf sensation Tiger Woods. I may be wrong...but I think that while this isn't Pacquiao's first time to do a Nike commercial, this is the first time that he will film a commercial with Woods and Bryant. As expected, this will be one very explosive commercial...one that Pinoys, most especially Mindanaoans, will look forward to. This much-awaited Nike commercial featuring Manny Pacquiao, Kobe Bryant and Tiger Woods will reportedly be shot in Los Angeles on July 8, 2009. Mindanao pride Manny Pacquiao to star in “Wapakman”

All right, so I was in Cinema 3 of Gaisano Mall of Davao, waiting for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen to begin, when this movie trailer started rolling. I found it so damn funny! It turned out to be the movie teaser of Mindanaoan Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao's upcoming film entitled "Wapakman." And take note...Pacquiao will star in "Wapakman" alongside Pussycat Dolls lead Nicole Scherzinger and WWF's Batista! Of course, we all know that Scherzinger is part-Pinay and Batista is proud of his Filipino roots as well. Check out the teaser of Manny Pacquiao's "Wapakman" movie: The Pacman will start shooting this film next month, July. Topel Lee will direct. I'm curious, though...will this movie be shown in time for the 2010 national elections?

Before anything else, let me make this clear. I love Manny Pacquiao. I have the utmost respect for the man. He has brought pride and glory to the Philippines and Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao really is one of the world's best athletes of all time. Plus he's a certified Mindanaoan! So of course I'm proud of him! However...I cannot help but be tickled pink with my fellow Mindanaoan's new ad for Nikon Coolpix: Is it just me or are Manny's lips PINK?! What the smokes was the stylist/make-up artist thinking?! EGAD! Now this is one "UN-COOLPIX" :(

I’m now a wedding photographer here in Mindanao!

So I just produced the photos I took during my very first wedding photography coverage gig. I was one of the photographers (and the only female photographer, I should say) during the Prestenbach Wedding in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao last December 28, 2008. (Yep, I guess I'm now a wedding photographer here in Mindanao! :) ) It was truly a great day - to be able to capture people and moments and to be a part of a nice couple's memorable day. The Prestenbachs, a Germany-based couple, have been together for 15 great years and they're thinking of moving here in the Philippines for good. The Prestenbachs have two lovely children. Sarangani to celebrate Munato Festival 2008

The Province of Sarangani, Mindanao is set to celebrate its 16th Founding Anniversary and at the same time, the much-awaited Munato Festival 2008. With the theme, "Ang Galing mo...Sarangan!," the festival will kick off on November 24 and will end on November 29, 2008. Rice coffee in Mindanao

I can declare that, yes, I, Mindanaoan, am a certified regular coffee drinker. I find it difficult to start the day without at least a cup of coffee (I'm a happier camper if I have two). I also frequent coffee shops and I have also tried drinking coffee from sidewalk vendors and from vendors at the bus terminal (you know who I mean - when you absolutely need to take a trip in the wee hours in the morning and all you can find are the ever reliable manangs and manongs who put up their "painit" stations - and by stations I mean a single table, a few glasses, coffee, sugar, some milk if you're lucky and thermos). I do know that drinking coffee has some health benefits. Still, I want to cut down on my intake or at least drink decaffeinated kape. Fortunately, there seems to be another choi...
