Want a steak experience that goes beyond the ordinary? How about preparing your own steak on a lava stone plate, crafted from authentic Mt. Fuji stone? Yappari Steak at Ayala Centrio CDO offers just that. The infrared effect of the Yappari Steak lava stone plate gently cooks the meat, producing a steak that is soft, tender, and evenly heated from the inside out.
I actually first “discovered” Yappari Steak at their SM Mall of Asia branch. I was curious plus the waft of the steak was just too tempting to pass. And so I tried it, liked the experience and then brought friends, relatives and families with me on subsequent visits. All of them liked the food as well. So when I found out that this steakhouse was opening a Cagayan de Oro branch, of course a visit just had to happen!
By the way, just in case you were wondering how they got the name: Yappari Steak is deeply rooted in Okinawan culture. In downtown Naha, it’s common to enjoy steak as a late-night meal after drinking. The name “Yappari Steak” reflects the idea that “Steak is absolutely the best nightcap.”

They have several choices on their menu but the star for me (and my regular order) is the thick-cut Yappari Steak (Top Blade), served medium rare to preserve its natural juices. You pretty much have a say on how “cooked” you want your meat to be. What I usually do is cut the slab into bite sized pieces and then let them stay on the lava stone plate for a few seconds. What I won’t consume yet, I place on the side so they won’t get burnt. Basically what makes the experience special is that you finish cooking it yourself right at the table. There’s a simple pleasure in grilling a thick steak exactly the way you like it – turning each piece, listening to the sizzle, and watching it reach your perfect doneness.

If you want to experiment with flavor customization, I suggest you start simple – just with salt and pepper. Then explore: a refreshing onion sauce adds brightness, while a special dry Japanese condiment, crafted specifically for their meat, offers a unique twist.
From the sizzling sound to the irresistible aroma and flavor, Yappari Steak is more than a meal. It’s a full sensory experience.

NOTE: This is not a sponsored post. I paid for everything myself including all the visits to their other branches.
