Too much is never enough for adrenaline junkies. You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy roller-
coasters and joyrides. Amusements parks can pack a punch even for grown-ups like us, who
never want to grow up. I’m also a huge fan of water (hello, Boracay beach lover here, reporting for duty!)
Hence, when I do decide (and have the privilege) to finally visit Dubai, I’m sure I will allocate a copious amount of time at the waterparks and amusement parks around the city.
Fortunately, there are lots of affordable flights now to Dubai. There are cheap flights from Manila now. There’s a ton of options! All I need to do is sort out the itinerary – make a list of the amusement and waterparks I plan to visit in Dubai, and I’ll be good to go!
Now before I share my shortlist, please feel free to share your dream Dubai itinerary, too! I’d love to hear your thoughts and travel stories 🙂
IMG World of Adventures
There are lots of thrills in store here. Head straight to the signature ride – the ‘Velociprator’.
It is just the tallest and fastest roller-coaster in Dubai. Enough said! There are four zones inside
the park, one dedicated to dinosaurs. For fans of ‘Jurassic Park’, this one you cannot miss. It is
actually an indoor park, which is a huge relief if you ask me. With the hot desert sun beating
down, the cool air-conditioned interiors are a welcome break. There are over twenty exciting
rides here. Some of them are themed around Cartoon Network characters and Marvel comics.
It is the world’s largest indoor theme-park no doubt, but you can expect to face crowds during
the holiday season.
Motiongate Dubai
This Hollywood inspired theme-park is just packed with adventure. You can easily spend a lot of
time here and not even notice it. There are 27 rides here in all and it is not possible to cover all
in a day. The Madagascar Mad Pursuit ride sounds like fun! Chased by the animal-control officer Captain Dubois, the ride is designed to escape his clutches! You will discover that many of the rides are inspired by Hollywood blockbusters like ‘The Ghostbuster’, ‘Shrek’ and ‘The Hunger Games’. The ‘Smurfs’ are also here. I found out that there are five zones in all. Exciting! Wear comfortable walking shoes!
Legoland Dubai
I understand that some of you are reading this as you are planning a vacation with your
children. Amusement parks are kid-magnets! They definitely must feature on your list of places
to visit in Dubai. Once you book your flight to Dubai, start planning your day at Legoland. There
is nothing quite like it and here’s why – it has over forty rides for children between the ages of two and twelve. There are 15,000 Lego models on display. You will find that children flock to the ‘Dragon Ride’. And yes, you guessed it right! It involves many twists and turns with a peak into an enchanted castle. There are five zones or lands in all. One is themed Middle-Eastern and another is the Lego City.
I love Legoland! Last year, Legoland Malaysia treated my family and I and we have so much fun! I mean, just check out some of the shameless things I did there 😛 (please do follow me on Instagram!)
Aquaventure Water Park
This one is more than just a water park really, if you ask me. You get to meet aquatic animals,
maybe even feed them. It is fun and educational too. There is an underwater shark lagoon you
can enter with protective gear. Definitely not for the faint-hearted! With water slides, river
slides, children’s play zones and beaches – there is something here for everyone. At the beach,
grown-ups can sit back and relax while children make the most of their day in the sands. This
theme-park is based out of the resort area of Atlantis the Palm. Look up Google Maps to figure
out its exact coordinates.
Bollywood Park Dubai
Are you a Bollywood buff? At least, a reluctant one? Dubai is home to the first Bollywood-
themed amusement park in the world. There are twenty live shows here, all inspired by Bollywood. With over fifteen cinematic rides and five entertainment zones, immerse yourself in Bollywood culture. The Broadway-style Bollywood musical -’Jaan- i-Jigar’ is just so much fun! It is held in the Rajmahal Theatre, bag in
the middle of the park.
Aaahhh…a dreamy Dubai travel itinerary! What do you think? 🙂
