Stay at these Palm Springs luxury villas during Coachella Festival and be cool

Have you ever wanted to attend the famed Coachella Festival in California but tend to stop with all the planning when you feel dazed, confused, lost and disheartened when you simply cannot find houses for rent in Palm Springs? I know the feeling.

I have a solution, too. Hear me out.

These days, there’s a construction boom in this sunny and lovely Sonoran desert town of Palm Springs which was a favorite escape for the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Bob Hope and currently is for the likes of Leonardo Di Caprio, Robert Downey, Jr. and even former US President Barack Obama. And there’s reason for this. Palm Springs boasts of iconic mid-century architecture, hipster bars, great restaurants, lavish Hollywood history and of course, it’s the home of the famous and always well-attended Coachella Festival.

Given these, it can be quite a challenge to look for places to stay especially during the said festival. However, there’s a solution. It can entail a bit of extra splurging but then again, isn’t it time to treat yourself to a luxurious, easy, memorable and comfortable stay?

Koi House

Start with the Koi House, which is located in the Historic Tennis Club neighborhood of Palm Springs overlooking the San Jacinto Mountains.

A modern house splashed with color and natural light, the Koi House is just moments away from the city proper, making it easy for you to check out the restaurants, bars, shops and art galleries. This has all the trappings of a modern house – from an Apple TV to topnotch security system to touch screen blinds, to home office (because, you know, you just might need to fire away a few work emails!) to a whole house control stereo sound system. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. A house party sounds about right! The first bedroom has access to the pool and the koi pond. The second bedroom, on the other hand, has its private patio. A separate casita, which has a king bed with ensuite bathroom, also has direct access to the pool. Truly, a perfect place for families or a group of friends. The dining room and living room offer garden views. If you’re up for a little gathering around a fire pit, there’s one under a secret pergola. If you prefer to showcase your musical talents instead, gather ‘round your family and friends at the baby grand piano.

Twin Palms Sinatra Estate

Now, if you want a little bit of Hollywood history mixed with your luxury villa experience at Palm Springs, then why not opt for Ol’ Blue Eyes’ dream place? It’s the best bet for a Palm Springs luxury villa meets Frank Sinatra travel experience.

The Twin Palms Sinatra Estate can accommodate up to 8 people. This 4-bedroom, mid-century masterpiece has a piano-shaped swimming pool where you can also find full changing cabanas, cozy lounges, a wet bar and a kitchenette. The details in this estate are splendid – from fine St. Charles cabinets to stone floor tiles. However, you will for sure fall in love with the bedrooms. Each has special features to call its own. The master bedroom has a masonry fireplace, the second bedroom has quick access to the terrace, the third has a queen bed and Instagrammable memorabilia while the fourth offers a view of the garden. Did I mention this property has 6.5 bathrooms (4 ensuite)? Luxury indeed!

Orange Crush

Meanwhile, if you’re looking for cozier, compact Palm Springs accommodation yet still abundant in amenities and close to the downtown area, Orange Crush is ideal for you. Built in 1958, this mid-century Mieselman is just a short drive away to various bars, restaurants and galleries. If you prefer to just stay in and relax, however, just do a quick trip to the market and gather ingredients for a fun afternoon barbecue. There’s an al fresco dining space, custom pergola with sliding shade, fire pit and lots of chaise lounges, sitting areas and free standing umbrellas where you and your friends can just chill and enjoy grilled food. If you’re in the mood to whip up lovely dinners, you can do so at the Chef’s Kitchen where there’s an oven, a custom built-in refrigerator and a gas cooktop. There’s WiFi Internet, air conditioning, a fireplace, TVs and a DVD player – although I’m not sure why you’d still need those at a stunning place like this! Orange Crush Palm Springs has two bedrooms (technically, three, but the third one’s a den) – one is an oversized master that has a king bed, armchair with ottoman, love seat, gas fireplace, ensuite bathrooms and a flat screen TV and the second has a king bed, shared bathroom, walk-in shower and a flat screen TV. The den, meanwhile, which is situated adjacent to the common living areas, can be used as additional sleeping area. It has a convertible sofa. What’s also nice about Orange Crush is the abundant space. You can easily move around the house. For city dwellers who long for space, quiet time, summer sunshine and awesome views, then this property is for you.
