Since Cebu is just a hop and skip away, it’s a favorite business and holiday destination for many of us Mindanaoans. Chances are, we have relatives or good friends in Cebu or we source products there or we use Cebu as our jump-off point to other interesting places like Boracay or Palawan. Personally, I visit the Queen City of the South at least two times a year and my recent international flights leave from the Mactan Cebu International Airport.
Take my most recent trip to Japan, for instance. I wanted to stay for a few days in Cebu before my flight to Narita (which is an hour away from Tokyo) and just rest. Choose from 4 configurations: Standard, Barkada, Superior, and Suite. I stayed in a Superior room and had the most delicious sleep. Since the spacious room was fitted with coffee and tea facilities, executive writing desk and chair, fast wired and wi-fi Internet connection and a refrigerator, comfortably working and blogging in my pajamas was as easy as 1-2-3. My room also had an in-room safe, a phone, hot and cold shower and mini bar. Food was no problem – aside from just being a few steps away from SM, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, Cafe Breeze, serves both Filipino and international dishes. Breakfast is also served buffet-style at Cafe Breeze and the choices, although limited, are enough.
Moreover, there’s a 7-Eleven convenience store at the ground floor! It doesn’t get any better than that, I tell you. Since I had to take an early morning trip to Japan, it was easy for me to buy my morning coffee plus baon for the long flight ahead.
Now if you’re in Cebu for business, Bayfront Hotel Cebu has function rooms (from small meeting rooms to a ballroom) and parking spaces. Health buffs also need not worry about skipping workouts.
