I was invited to the first birthday party of Pele Iñigo Magdangal Escueta, the firstborn of celebrity couple Jolina Magdangal and Mark Escueta. I felt truly honored and happy to be there to witness Pele’s very special day.
It was a Saturday and I left Makati about half an hour before the scheduled start of the party, which was held in Quezon City. Boy, was I really no longer used to Manila traffic! My GrabTaxi ride took me about 50 minutes to reach QC and then when I reached the gate, the guards took about 20 minutes to verify if I was indeed invited 😛 Good thing I brought the invitation but that still didn’t convince the guards haha! I even had to call Rivermaya’s manager Raymond to tell him about the situation. It was all cool, though. The cab driver was nice and he was so excited to know that we were going to Jolina’s son’s birthday party.
“Idol ko yun mula AngTV pa! Lagi kong pinapanood mga pelikula niya. Rakista yung asawa niya, di ba?,” he asked me with a smile, peering at me through the rear view mirror. He was nice.
Eventually, we were allowed entry. Raymond met me at the entrance. Jolina was also just a few steps away. She had a big smile on her face. “Dumating ka!,” she said then gave me a hug. She is just the sweetest, I tell you.
Mond and I then stepped inside the party venue. The cute birthday boy and his Papa Mark were there to welcome me:
The venue looked so festive!
Some of the guests that day included Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Jaya, Nikki Valdez, Mark Bautista, Dingdong Dantes, Gabby Eigenmann and Angelika dela Cruz. Of course, the Rivermaya family was there as well 🙂
Mama Jolina was so hands-on. This is her trying to sort out the giveaways:
The happy family inside a giant bubble!
Pele and his kiddie guests truly had a wonderful time that day. There was a bubble show and an acrobat show and there were even booths that offered mini games and treats.
Thank you very much, Mark and Jolina! I had so much fun! Kisses to the birthday boy for me please 🙂
