As someone who has been very contented working behind the scenes for more than a decade, to ever be offered the opportunity to model and help endorse something is the farthest on my mind. Never have I thought that a brand – a very well-known one at that – would even consider me to be one of their brand ambassadors.
So you could just imagine how honored I felt when Islands Souvenirs, through their head honcho Jay Aldeguer (one of the very few people I truly admire!), chose me as one of their “I heart CDO” Islands Souvenirs brand ambassadors. It was something I could never say no to. I mean, really — apart from the fact that it was THE Jay Aldeguer who asked me, I also truly believe in the Islands Souvenirs brand. I am a fan of their advocacies – which are to revolutionize souvenir shopping in the Philippines by transforming cottage-industry type products, giving them a fresher look and packaging them in a vibrant, colorful shopping environment and implement good corporate social responsibility projects (did you know they’re responsible for building hundreds of homes for Typhoon Haiyan survivors?) I also like how Islands Souvenirs makes it a point to tap individuals who love their own local communities and do the things they love to do in those communities. Yes, I’m obviously an Islands Souvenirs fan 🙂 Hey, I have lots of shirts and bag tags to prove this! 😀
And so with a teensy weensy bit of hesitation, I gathered all intestinal fortitude and said yes – and now I’m officially an Islands Souvenirs CDO “I heart CDO” brand ambassador 😀
I already got dolled up and underwent a photo shoot. Unfortunately, I had a terrible fever that day so I wasn’t entirely in my element. Hopefully, the Islands Souvenirs folks got good shots, though! I must say – the experience was fun, exciting but a little bit unnerving 😀
Together with other chosen brand ambassadors, I was “introduced” to the public as an “I heart CDO” ambassador last June 21, 2014 at the Islands Souvenirs Limketkai Mall branch. I’ll write about that in a separate post.
In the meantime, I would like to invite all of you to please visit Islands Souvenirs CDO and help spread our love for Cagayan de Oro! Start by wearing a personalized “I heart CDO” shirt. You can put your name, your friend’s name, your parent’s name or your significant other’s name on the shirt 🙂 Remember that the first 10 letters are FREE! The “I heart CDO” shirts are also very affordable and make perfect gifts and pasalubong 🙂 And while you’re at the Islands Souvenirs CDO store, do check out their other affordable items. Let me share with you the 3 things you will surely love at Islands Souvenirs CDO!
Visit their Limketkai Mall branch at the 1st level, East Concourse (in front of the ATM machines row) and on July at the second floor of Centrio Mall!
I would also like to thank once again Jay Aldeguer, Camille Aldeguer and the Islands Souvenirs team! I am truly honored and I feel really blessed to have this opportunity. Thank you very much!
YAY 🙂
