As I’m writing this, it’s the 2nd day of Make Your Own Havaianas CDO 2012. So that means you have today and tomorrow to join MYOH CDO 2012! 🙂 The Make Your Own Havaianas 2012 Cagayan de Oro leg covers Northern Mindanao and it kicked off yesterday, August 17, 2012. MYOH CDO 2012 will run until August 19, 2012 at the Limketkai Rotunda, Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines.
A Make Your Own Havaianas event is where you can customize your own pair of Havaianas flip flops. It’s that time of the year when Havaianaticos are given the chance to choose their desired sole, strap and pins. In other words, it’s a chance for Havaianas lovers to design their very own – truly unique – pair. Moreover, it’s only during MYOH events when specially designed soles and unique pins can be bought 🙂
This year is a little extra special, though. This year marks the 50th anniversary of Havaianas! And you know what that means – it aims to be the grandest! Read below for more reasons why the Make Your Own Havaianas 2012 events are extra special.
I was again invited by Spruce Designer Network (exclusive sub-distributor of Havaianas for Northern and Western Mindanao) to create my very own Havaianas pair.
Check out the pretty invite I received for the launch night held the evening prior to the start of the 3-day MYOH CDO 2012 event:
The Make Your Own Havaianas CDO 2012 launch night is a first for the CDO/Northern Mindanao leg. And it did not disappoint – not only did the launch night boast of the who’s who in local society, it also kept guests happy with delicious hors d’oeuvres and cocktails and impressed them with the live art performance of Joseph The Sand Artist.

Check out Joseph The Sand Artist showcasing his skills LIVE! (beside the huge screen). How’s that for cool?
The guests were also told of wonderful news: each purchased pair that’s embellished with a “Happiness” pin means that Php 100.00 goes to Operation Smile, a charity organization for children that provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children. What a beautiful cause!
Here are just some of the soles and the straps that you can choose from:
As for pins, aside from the “Happiness” pin, you can also embellish your Havaianas pair with “1962,” “Brasilipinas,” a soccer ball, letters (I spotted several pairs with pins spelling out the names of the owners), aviators, crystals, crowns etc.
The busy crowd:
Here’s what I chose – the Estampas sole and the aviator and crown pins 🙂
Tadaaaa 🙂 My new Havaianas pair!
Check out my new pair of Havaianas 🙂
What do you think of my newest creation? 🙂
