The Maxwell Hotel Cebu is located along N. Escario Street, Cebu City, Philippines – a prime location in the Queen City of the South. It’s a fairly new hotel in Cebu City and can be considered a Cebu budget hotel.
Mindanaoan stayed at the Maxwell Hotel Cebu for two nights during my recent 4-day escapade at Cebu to attend the first ever Cebu Blog Camp 2010. The first two nights were spent at my Cebu City-based brother’s apartment. My brother is also a blogger, by the way, and he accompanied me at the Cebu Blog Camp. He blogs about tennis here. Since he often lacked sleep because of the uber warm Cebu weather as of late, I, as the dutiful “ate” (ahem, ahem), decided to check-in at The Maxwell Hotel Cebu and treat him to two days of rest, sleep and an absolutely relaxing massage (more about this after the jump).
We stayed in one of the superior rooms. It was fully airconditioned, had two beds, a vanity table and chair, a 21 inch television set, a large cabinet, an NDD/IDD capable telephone line, hot and cold shower and FREE DSL Internet. Luckily, we were able to avail of their promo rate so instead of paying more than P2,300 for the room, we ended up only paying around P1,500 per night.
See the two mineral water bottles? They were provided for free. You can also request for a thermos full of hot water for only P20.00
Here’s a look at the beds in our room at The Maxwell Hotel Cebu:
Meanwhile, here’s the washroom:
This cheap hotel in Cebu City offers FREE wi-fi Internet at the lobby (aside from the FREE DSL Internet connection in each of the rooms), has a convenience store, function rooms, a restaurant (where you can also partake of your FREE daily breakfast) and a spa and massage center called Agua.
Speaking of massage, my brother and I decided to avail of Agua’s services on our last night at the Maxwell Cebu. We opted to avail of the whole body massage and that the therapy session be held inside our room. Since we got a free coupon for a 30-minute foot massage (every check-in at the Maxwell Cebu Hotel is entitled to a coupon for a free 30-minute foot massage), my brother’s treatment was an hour and a half long. Mine was just a little over an hour. And boy was the massage really good! It really helped ease my body aches especially my very tired legs. Should you need massage treatment in Cebu City, just proceed to Agua. It’s located at the first floor of the Maxwell Hotel Cebu. No need to be a hotel guest for you to avail of their services. The whole body massage that we availed of was priced for only P400.00 for an entire hour.
So going back to The Maxwell Hotel Cebu – our two-day stay was good, comfortable and restful. In fact, I plan to stay there the next time I’m in Cebu City.
So would I recommend The Maxwell Hotel Cebu? Yes of course. I just hope that I will have the same good experience when I come back.

never had a chance to try this hotel when I was in Cebu as it was always the government recommended hotel… forgot the name though, it was the one near the PDI office. ๐
