Share your Maalaala Mo Kaya story at Limketkai Mall

"Maalaala Mo Kaya," a drama anthology program aired via ABS-CBN Channel 2, will visit Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao! On August 7 to 9, 2009 at the Limketkai Mall in CDO, the staff of ABS-CBN's "Maalaala Mo Kaya" will be on hand to accept letters and stories from the public. Selected stories may then be featured in future "Maalaala Mo Kaya" episodes. The stories and letters will be accepted during mall hours. Will a Mindanaoan's story be the next to be featured in MMK? I remember that the 1994 Maalaala Mo Kaya movie starring Richard Gomez, Aiko Melendez and Chin Chin Gutierrez was based on a story of a Mindanaoan - a Davao City resident. One of Mindanaoan's good investments last year was to buy a pair of Fitflops. Widely known as one of broadcasting mogul Oprah Winfrey's "favorite things," FitFlop makes it possible for the wearer to "get a workout while you walk." Roughly 8,000 people made the pledge to register and vote in the May 2010 national elections last July 30, 2009 during the Rock the Vote 2009 Cagayan de Oro City leg held at Xavier University Gymnasium, Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao. Rock the Vote is a musical cum advocacy show which aims to encourage people especially first time voters to register at the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and exercise their right to suffrage. Meeting the CDO Bloggers group

MINDANAO - I'm currently in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao and just got back from a pretty fruitful meeting with some of the members of the CDO Bloggers group. Mindanaoan joined their regular officers' meeting and pitched in some of my thoughts for the upcoming Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3, which will be held in Cagayan de Oro City come October 24, 2009. The meeting was held at one of the coffee shops here in the City of Golden Friendship. I found the CDO Bloggers to be very friendly and warm. They also welcomed new ideas and suggestions. MINDANAO - Looks like the Philippine Blog Awards (PBA) 2009 is underway! Based on PBA organizer Jayvee Fernandez's post in the PBA website, this year's awards ceremony will take place on October 9, 2009 at the Megatent Events Venue located at 30 Meralco Avenue, Bgy. Ugong, Pasig City. Pretty exciting! Last year, a fellow Mindanao blogger, Batang Yagit, garnered the Bloggers' Choice Award. Let's hope another Mindanaoan wins in this year's PBA!
