Google Philippines doodle for Independence Day 2015

Google Philippines doodle for Independence Day 2015

Mindanaoan Update, Technology
Google joins the Philippines today in celebrating Independence Day, a national holiday commemorating the country's declaration of independence from Spanish colonial rule, by releasing an Independence Day Google doodle depicting the Philippine flag. When people access the search engine today (Google.com.ph), they can see the Philippine flag's colors. The sun and 3 stars also replace one of the "O"s. Clicking on the Google doodle will lead visitors to more information about the Philippine Independence. Today, June 12, 2015, marks the 117th Independence Day. Thank you, Google! Speaking at GDayX CDO – a Google event

Mindanaoan Update
Thanks to the invitation from Google Business Group - CDO, I was one of the speakers during the highly successful gDayX CDO event held last November 16, 2013 in Cagayan de Oro City. gDayX is a big Google event and the Northern Mindanao, Philippines leg was held in CDO. gDayX is an event format patterned after Google Days or gDays, and is a collaboration of various Google communities. There were 10 speakers and topics ranged from how to use Google products to maximize your business, how to start a tourism business and market it online (that was my topic! :) ), crisis mapping, technopreneurship, how to start a business blog, planning and launching your own startup company and measuring success with Google Analytics. These are just some of those who attended that fun-filled d...

Because if you are, then we need you to help map out precincts! Google Philippines, through its representative Aileen Apolo, is asking us to please help map precincts in certain regions in Mindanao. A website called Find Your Precinct has been set up and its goal is to help every Filipino find the location of the voting center for their precinct. The locations found in the said website are contributed by volunteer mappers and it's about time that Mindanaoans join forces and help not only one another but the rest of our fellow countrymen. According to Aileen, there's still need to map out precincts in Zamboanga, Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao and Misamis. Help now by logging on to Find Your Precinct. Alternatively, and to make things more fun, you can spearhead a mapping party and...

Can you still remember that mixed feeling of anticipation, eagerness and curiosity --- much like the feeling you had on your very first day in school? That was exactly how I felt when I attended a recent bloggers networking event in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao. Although it wasn't my first time to attend one, I still felt like a bright-eyed girl who was so excited to learn new things, to know more updates on the goings-on in the blogosphere and to meet new people in a new town - all of whom I felt shared my love and belief on the power and beauty of the Internet and blogging. Plus I was able to invite 6 friends from Bukidnon and all of my 3 brothers! HOW COOL WAS THAT? :) Mindanaoan attended the 1st Digital Filipino Club and Cagayan de Oro Bloggers Meet-up last July 17, 2009. Generousl...
