As a frequent traveler, nothing else makes me a happy camper than discovering various ways and means to save money especially on accommodations. We all know that lodging expenses can take a huge chunk off our travel budget so if there’s a way for me to save, I’m game!
So when I heard all about this new app, Traveloka, that lets you save not only on hotel rates but also on flights, I just had to give it a whirl! Plus I had a great reason to test this hotel and flight booking platform. My mother and one of my brothers (who are both based outside Cagayan de Oro) were in town and I wanted to treat them to a mini staycation.
My hotel of choice - Limketkai Luxe Hotel.
Located along CM Recto Avenue, Lapasan, CDO, Limketkai Luxe Hotel is just a few moments away from Limketkai Mall...
Here's good news for fellow budget conscious travelers and folks who love staycations like myself. Emerald Suites CDO is now open for business! Emerald Suites Cagayan de Oro is the latest budget hotel to open in the City of Golden Friendship and they do not only offer friendly rates, they offer a great location as well!
Situated along Jose Agudo Street, Barangay 24, Emerald Suites CDO is just a stone's throw away from the major malls. From the garden area of Ayala Centrio Mall, this new CDO budget hotel is just a few meters away. It is also several steps away from Gaisano Mall, Limketkai complex (where the Limketkai Mall is) and the currently being constructed SM CDO Premiere 2.

I am involved in a new project and I'm really, really excited about this! I've been trying to keep this under wraps for a while now but now it can be told.
Seda Centrio Hotel, the newest luxury hotel in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao, Philippines, is set to hold a very special event on June 15, 2013. It's so special that Seda Hotel Centrio CDO folks are flying in celebrities, artists and even national media friends. I can't divulge more details but suffice it to say that this will be the must-have invite of the year! :)
Do follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Google Plus for updates on this starry, starry event ;)
For the uninitiated, Seda Centrio CDO is the latest boutique-business hotel owned and managed by Ayala Land. This Cagayan de Oro downtown hotel features top-...
So as we all know, the Department of Tourism launched a new tourism logo and slogan --- "It's more fun in the Philippines"! But for Typhoon Sendong (international name: Washi) victims in Cagayan de Oro City, Iligan City and Dumaguete, things weren't exactly "fun" ever since the December 16, 2011 floods. To date, more than 1,400 people have died in CDO alone and hundreds more are still missing. In Iligan and Dumaguete, it's the same scenario. Lots of lost lives, damaged properties and broken dreams.
Slowly but surely, however, things are picking up, thanks to selfless volunteers and generous souls. For weeks, so many relief operations were launched. Then rehabilitation efforts.
Now, it's time to REBUILD.
And for Kagay-anons, tourism can really play a big role in rebuilding CDO. Thi...
Here's another Mindanao Hotels review. Goodnews Traveller's Inn is located along Capt. Vicente Roa Street, Cagayan de Oro City, Northern Mindanao, Philippines. It's near the busy Cogon Market and is accessible by public utility vehicles (taxi, jeepney, trisikad and motorela) This lodging house in Cagayan de Oro City is also just a few steps away from the Cagayan de Oro City fire station.
Truth be told, Goodnews Travellers Inn was my last...okay, ONLY choice at the time I was in CDO because all of the other hotels in Cagayan de Oro were fully booked. So with my hopes up, I checked in and got a double room. I paid P950.00 for the double airconditioned room.
My room was at the third floor, which was a major bummer. Apart from the fact that I'm not a fan of using the stairs (Goodnews Travele...
