All right, Mindanaoan has shown you the "formal" photos taken during a recent Ozamiz City, Mindanao wedding, yes? Now it's time to show you the fresh, fun, funky side! After all, my professional wedding photographer brother Bon is proud of producing "fresh, fun, funky photography!" (I coined this, by the way! :D) I - Mindanaoan - was one of Bon's 2nd photographers during that beautiful wedding in Mindanao. My 3 younger brothers and I all loved to draw, paint and sketch. However, our father taught us how to further hone our skills. My father was a very talented illustrator. I used "was" because he died several years ago, back when I was still in college. He was an amazing artist - with just a charcoal pencil and a blank sheet of paper, he could whip up a very detail-oriented drawing of a hen taking care of its chicks in just a few minutes. He could sketch a portrait oh so effortlessly. He didn't like to trace and he seldom used an eraser. He drew from the heart. Fast forward many years - our youngest sibling Bon seems to be the only one who continues to dabble in the arts. MINDANAO - It's that time of the year once again! Kasalan sa Kagay-an 2009, the Cagayan de Oro City Mindanao leg of the Kasalang Filipino series, is now underway...and guess what? My brother, who's a professional wedding photographer (just like his ate! hehe :D), graphic artist and caricaturist, is one of those who have flyers, leaflets and business cards displayed at the said wedding fair. (please pass through the "main entrance" to the fair and behind it there are tables where you can find flyers of various Cagayan de Oro City wedding photographers...look for the framed picture which screams "fresh. fun. funky photography!" --- that's my brother's area ;) ) Kasalan sa Kagay-an is currently being held at the Rotunda area of Limketkai Mall, Cagayan de Oro City.
