I'm printing below the full text of the statement released by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines with regard to the recent controversies alleging that some PCSO funds were given to Bishops (one of them Butuan, Mindanao Bishop Juan de Dios Pueblos). Bishop Pueblos reportedly wrote to former Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, asking for an SUV (a Montero Sport worth Php 1.7 Million) that can "comfortably seat" 6-10 people as a...get this..."birthday gift." We took the initiative to go there after conferring with our government representatives,” said Pangilinan. A few days ago, something terrible happened. A deadly landslide occurred in Bukidnon. The Bukidnon landslide happened in Sitio Hangaron, Barangay Lumbayao, Valencia City, Bukidnon. Not only were there victims in Lumbayao, some people including kids were also affected in nearby Barangay Tongan-Tongan. The Bukidnon landslide was, needless to say, very devastating. As of press time, 6 bodies have been recovered in both Barangay Lumbayao and Barangay Tongan-Tongan. The victims from Lumbayao included Maritess Lagunay, Segundina Lagunay and Sheryl Sadsad. More specifically, how do you talk to the very first Angkasawan (Malaysian astronaut) sent to space who’s tall, super smart, very passionate in his beliefs and very, very handsome without sounding like an awestruck schoolgirl? This was my very thought as soon as I found out that I was set to fetch, meet and spend time with the supposedly dashing 38 year old Dato Sheikh Muszaphar, who’s not only an Angkasawan but an orthopedic surgeon and part-time model as well. It was the day I've been waiting for. To finally watch our very own Philippine National Football Team AZKALS play against another team LIVE! It finally happened last July 3, 2011 at Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila, Philippines. And I even had a Pilipinas Futbol Azkals shirt on to boot!
