Best barquiron and pastillas in Cagayan de Oro, that’s for sure! Yes, folks, Treats by Kit is where it’s at. Treats by Kit CDO started with a simple love for traditional Filipino sweets and it didn’t take long for word to spread.
I first discovered them during the pandemic (wow, that sounded like a lifetime ago!) I ordered a lot! And then when the pandemic ended, Treats by Kit announced that they were opening a store. However, that went kaput (we still don’t know why) but the good news is – they finally have not only a store but a cafe slash commissary where you can actually see how these yummy treats are made. Yes, you can actually watch how their iconic barquirons are made – a behind-the-scenes treat that’s just as delightful as the sweets themselves!
Their barquiron and pastillas have truly quickly won the hearts (and taste buds!) of locals and visitors alike, turning this homegrown brand into one of CDO’s most beloved pasalubong destinations.
Today, Treats by Kit has grown into a full-fledged café experience where you can sit back, sip something good, and enjoy their signature sweets in a cozy setting. They’re located along Taguanao Road.
P.S. During my latest visit, my brother and I bought so many as pasalubong to family and friends. And, as expected, all of them loved the treats!
