With the warmer weather approaching, you and your family are probably looking to spend some time outdoors. That is certainly understandably, particularly if you have endured quite a cold winter. There is just something special about getting outside and breathing in the fresh air that rejuvenates the soul. Let us look at four great ways to spend the summer outdoors this coming season.
Fishing
This is an old pastime that never grows old. With lakes and rivers dotting the landscape of this great country, one is never very far away from a great fishing spot. The great part of this is that you can turn it into a day outing and be back home by nightfall, or go all out and make a weekend out of it. The choice is up to you, jut get ready to reel some big fish in!
Rent a Cabin
If you have a long weekend coming up, or even if you have time to spend a week outdoors, renting a cabin is a great way to do it. You can enjoy comfortable surroundings, with all the amenities home, and nature right on your doorstep. An Oklahoma Lodge can be just what the doctor ordered to get outside and breathe in the fresh air you’ve been missing all winter long.
Go Hiking
Another great activity to take part in is hiking. Children and adults alike can benefit from hitting the open trails and experiencing nature as it was hundreds of years ago. Just make sure you have some comfortable shoes, plenty of water, and a good compass. Go out, explore, and enjoy.

Take a Mountain Biking Trip
One summer morning, gather up the kids and head out for a mountain biking trip. This is great fun. You don’t have to be a bike expert to enjoy the trails. Just choose a level according to the level of riders you have in the group and get going. You will want to check out your bikes before you go and make sure they are good in working order. It is also a good idea to take a spare intertube and pump just in case. In Cagayan de Oro, a good mountain bike place to check out is Bike Republic Cafe.
Each of these four activities is accessible to most people, no matter what your level of fitness.
The key is just to get out there and enjoy nature. That is, after all, what summers are made of!
