Born in Ballarat, Australia, Craig Revel Horwood, who started out as a dancer in Melbourne, moved to the UK in 1989. That move proved to be a fateful one as he received lots of success in his professional life.
However, Craig Revel Horwood also had his fair share of controversies and ups and downs in life.
At the tender age of 17, he earned money by appearing as a drag queen in bars and clubs. Later, in a magazine interview, he was quoted as saying that he was “bisexual for a long time.”
“I flitted between men and women quite a lot between the ages of 17 and 26. My wife Jane left me for another man. Then I fell in love with a bloke. I have been gay ever since.”
He also underwent two plastic surgeries. The first was for a nose job at 18 years old. He also underwent a breast reduction in 2010 because, accordingly, his “C-size” cups made dancing painful for him.
On August 20, 2011, he formally became a British citizen.
Currently, he is in a relationship with Damon Scott, who is known for coming runner up on Britain’s Got Talent. Both have been dating since 2013. In September 2014, they moved in to a house in Hampshire together.
Craig Revel Horwood was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 2000 (1999 season) for Best Theatre Choreographer for Spend, Spend, Spend Musical Production at the Piccadilly Theatre.
He was nominated for a 2003 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Theatre Choreographer of 2002 for My One and Only performed at the Piccadilly Theatre.
