A few months ago, the United States Embassy in Manila, Philippines conducted its first ever America in 3D event. It was so successful that the US Embassy in Manila, under the leadership of the very amiable Ambassador Harry Thomas, decided to do a roadshow! First stop – Baguio City!
Come join the U.S. Embassy when it brings “America in 3D” to Baguio City from July 8 to 10, 2011 at SM City Baguio! All residents of greater Baguio are invited to participate in our FREE, fun events in SM City Baguio from July 8 through 10, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. The three-day weekend will include a full lineup of musical performances (everything from jazz to hip-hop, from country music to Broadway tunes), free samplings of American food, cooking demonstrations, and information about U.S. visas and applying to study in the United States.
This is definitely an opportune time especially for people who want to visit the United States of America soon. America in 3D Baguio edition will provide everyone the opportunity to meet and talk with representatives of various Embassy sections and agencies, including the Visa Section, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Commercial Service, the United States Agency for International Development, the Foreign Agricultural Service, Peace Corps, and the Philippine-American Educational Foundation (Fulbright Commission).
What’s more — Ambassador Thomas will be attending many of the events throughout the three-day weekend! That will most definitely be a treat!
“America in 3D” is a new nationwide initiative highlighting American culture, values, and society. It takes the Embassy on the road throughout the Philippines two-to-three times each year for a multiday series of cultural performances, youth programs, community service projects, sports clinics, and information exhibits. A personal initiative of Ambassador Harry K. Thomas, Jr., this is the Embassy’s most significant outreach initiative each year. “America in 3D” was held first in Quezon City this March and, after its second launch in Baguio, it is heading to Cebu later in the year. McDonald’s Philippines, SM City Baguio, and El Cielito Hotels are major supporters of “America in 3D” in Baguio City.
