Following the strong 8.9 earthquake in Japan today, several provinces in the Philippines have now been declared under tsunami alert. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) have declared these provinces in the Philippines (which include 4 areas in Mindanao) under alert level 2:

• Cagayan
• Ilocos Norte
• Isabela
• Quezon
• Aurora
• Camarines Norte
• Camarines Sur
• Albay
• Catanduanes
• Sorsogon
• Northern Samar
• Eastern Samar
• Leyte
• Southern Leyte
• Surigao del Norte
• Surigao del Sur
• Davao Oriental
• Davao del Sur
